A Couple of Days in Stratford on Avon

This weekend we were kicked out of the house by our youngest daughter whilst she had a seventeenth birthday party.

The weather prospects weren’t good so we opted to stay inland and chose Stratford on Avon as our destination in the motorhome. The nearest campsite to town told me they were waterlogged and advised I called back the next day, the second site had already closed for the winter. In the end I found the leisure centre has 9 dedicated motorhome places and it costs £10 for 24 hours,  £20 for 48 hours or £20 for 72 hours.

Stratford isn’t bad if it’s only 84 miles away. There’s a theatre or two as you’d expect and Shakespeare’s birthplace and s few other related things such as a Shakespeare’s bookshop and s Shakespeare’s gift shop; however that’s about it. Of much more interest to me was the Canal basin and the marina.
