I’ve been doing a bit of driving work for DHL at the Currys PC World Distribution Centre run by Know How in Newark on Trent. On Friday I returned to my car following a 14 hour shift to find a Parking Charge Notification Ticket on my windscreen. The huge car park that serves the place is currently that rammed full of cars from all the extra staff they’ve got working there that there’s simply nowhere to park. Like many others I pulled on to the grass on the perimeter road simply because there were no spaces left. I didn’t block anyone in and there was ample space to get trucks and buses past. Notwithstanding this, I got a ticket and a £60 fine from the private company they’ve got patrolling the car park. They’re actually fining their own employees and the same vultures that issue tickets at the likes of Asda and Morrisons are profiteering from it. The worst of it is these are the same blood suckers who take you to court if you don’t pay immediately and even though you’re in dispute with them they’re the sort who get you a CCJ and send the bailiffs round to clear you out. I see no alternative but to pay it and the only good thing to come out of it is that DHL were at least five drivers short on every shift last week and I’ve told them they can ram it next week so they’ll be six drivers short. I’ll spend the time I should have worked there on Tuesday making a You Tube Video of the place so everyone can see how bad it is.
Can you believe it I’ve just gone to pay these vultures and on top of the £60.00 they add a £1.50 processing fee for using a card.
