A Little About me
Stories Shaped by a Life Well Travelled
Before taking early retirement, Michael Kempster spent 20 years as an Officer in the Royal Air Force, building a distinguished career across finance, budgeting, human resources, and recruitment. Backed by an honours degree in Business, he combines analytical thinking with a practical, no-nonsense approach to complex problems.
Alongside business and finance, Michael has a lifelong curiosity about how people live, work, travel, and make sense of the world around them. That curiosity has taken him far beyond the desk. He has lived in many different locations, has completed the Camino de Santiago, spent five months travelling around South East Asia, and two months exploring Sri Lanka—experiences that continue to shape his writing and outlook on life.
Michael writes regularly for his own website and for others, covering business, money, travel, and broader reflections on life. His books include Tales From the Headquarters, Money for Life, How the World Will End, and Reclaiming Your Life after 50—all written with the same blend of clarity, curiosity, and hard-earned perspective.
