Nottingham City Canal and River Walk

This is a great walk I did a while ago and have only just got round to uploading. Although it is 14.5 miles in length there is not a single hill of any sort and the tracks are all good, wide and well surfaced. It is suitable for either bikes or walking and much of the route follows the ‘the Big Track’. I started at the National Watersports Centre at Holme Pierpoint, where parking was free and managed to easily find a spot close to the river. The route follows the River Trent for a couple of miles before turning right by the Nottingham Forest Ground along the Nottingham and Beeston Canal through the heart of Nottingham and returning along the River Trent. There are ample places to stop and sit and plenty of places to eat and drink. I plumbed for the Trent Bridge Inn next to the famous cricket ground, which is a Weatherspoons and after fish, chips, mushy peas and a pint for £6.09 I only had a mile or two to go to complete the walk. The route can be found below along with a You Tube Video of the photos I took.
