I’m staying in my motorhome with the good lady wife on a Stellplatz ( think glorified car park) near Lindau right on the German and Austrian border. It’s been hotter than hell here all day with temperatures topping 34 degrees for much of the day. Apparently, it’s the hottest summer in the area since records began. So dry and hot has it been that the Swiss, who are also just over the border, have cancelled all firework displays during their national day celebrations today.
The great thing is it’s all ended in a god almighty clap of thunder and torrential rain, which has cleared the air, albeit only partially. The lightening and rumbling seem set to carry on in to the night
