I’m currently in Germany staying in the Black Forest for a few days before heading along the route of the German Alpine Road. Now I’ve been to Germany many times before and always been struck by the sense of order and efficiency; however, this time I’ve really noticed that everywhere, including along the roadsides, are litter free. It puts the stretch of the A1 by us in Newark to shame. In fact that stretch is more like the back streets in Tunisia than anywhere else in Northern Europe.
It would be pointless posting pictures of no litter, so here are a couple of me swimming in the Rhein and in Lake Titisee. Imagine if the U.K. were more welcoming about wild swimming?
