The Simplest Thing

Every single row in our house between us and our 14 year old daughter is as a result of one of two things.

Most often it’s as a result of the state of her bedroom. And by that I mean absolute shock horror, stuff everywhere, dirty face wipes on the carpet, food under the bed and clothes everywhere. Total disgrace. Less often, but just as annoying, doing things at the last minute like buying presents on the day of the birthday, turning up 2 hours late to meet friends and not getting anything ready in advance ever.

There are never any other causes of rows, yet she can’t see that it won’t take much to make her life easy, nor can she see the anguish her lazy lifestyle has on us as parents. It would be so simple to turn it around, but she won’t. Anyone know why not?
